How Jovem Pan built a subscription platform for sector reports
How Jovem Pan created an annual subscription platform for sector reports to qualify clients for its broader product ecosystem.
Jovem Pan had an asset few companies can replicate: distribution, brand trust, and a daily reading of multiple sectors of the economy. The challenge was turning that editorial strength into a clearer commercial entry point. Instead of starting the client relationship with a cold consultative sale, the idea was to create a subscription platform for deep sector reports.
I built reports.jovempan.com.br in Next.js, with Neon Postgres as the database and Neon Auth as the authentication layer through a Better Auth based wrapper. That stack fit a practical need: the product had to launch as a platform, not as a landing page with a PDF hidden behind a form. Subscribers needed to log in, browse reports, and return throughout the year without manual operation behind every access.
The product organizes sector analysis inside a gated experience for annual subscribers. Each report works as market intelligence, but also as a commercial signal. A company that subscribes and consumes content about a specific sector leaves clues about its interests, maturity, and possible pains. That changes the role of the platform: it sells access to content and, at the same time, filters opportunities for the rest of the Jovem Pan ecosystem.
The architecture had to support that double function. The database stores users, subscriptions, and content access. Authentication has to be simple enough not to hurt conversion, but solid enough to support a paid product. On the front-end, the goal was to make the report feel closer to a digital product than a static file.
The result was a smarter entry strategy for JP. The annual subscription creates direct revenue, but the bigger value is intent data. Someone reading a report about agriculture, energy, retail, or technology can later become a client for media, intelligence, events, or analytics products. The report becomes the first conversation, with much more context.
